Co-living is still a relatively new idea in Lithuania, but such co-living complexes are becoming more and more popular worldwide. Worldwide Coliving Membership, a network of co-living businesses, has conducted a study to find out why people choose to live in a 'community home' and how this changes their lives.
74.3% of respondents said that they spend more time at home after moving into a co-living space than they used to.
When asked what they expect from living in co-living accommodation, 78.8% of the respondents said that they expect to have new experiences.
Saving money as a reason for living in a co-living space came only third, cited by 57.6% of respondents.
Interestingly, when looking at the income of the respondents, their average income is 167% higher than the average GDP of the countries they live in.
And although the survey was not carried out in Europe, the findings are telling for us: sooner or later, the trends will reach Lithuania too, and understanding them is essential. And the survey makes it clear: co-living is not popular because it is cheap. Co-living is a completely new concept in life, which people are seeking because they want to be part of a community.
